 Story

"Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" is a 2020 mockumentary film and a sequel to the 2006 film "Borat." The movie follows the fictional character of Borat Sagdiyev, a journalist from Kazakhstan, as he travels to America to give a gift to Vice President Mike Pence and to redeem his country's image. The movie begins with Borat having spent the last fourteen years in a gulag for bringing shame to Kazakhstan in the first film. He is released from prison by his government, who task him with the mission of travelling to America to deliver a gift to Vice President Mike Pence. Borat is accompanied on this mission by his daughter, Tutar (Maria Bakalova), whom he plans to offer as a bride to Pence. The movie takes a satirical approach to the political and social climate of America, with Borat and Tutar interacting with real people who are often unaware they are being filmed. Borat's antics range from the comical to the outrageous, exposing the prejudices and biases of those he encounters. He also faces numerous challenges along the way, including navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, which brings the film's satire to a whole new level. As Borat and Tutar travel through America, they meet with various individuals, including a group of conspiracy theorists who believe in the QAnon conspiracy theory, a woman who runs a pregnancy crisis center, and a wealthy man who invites them to stay in his home. Borat also spends time with a group of Trump supporters, attending a rally dressed as a KKK member and singing a song that satirizes the president's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the movie, Borat's relationship with Tutar evolves. Initially, Borat views his daughter as an object to be given away, but as the story progresses, he begins to see her as a person with her own thoughts and desires. This is highlighted in a scene where Tutar seeks advice from a group of feminists, and they help her to see that she is not a possession but a person with her own agency. As Borat and Tutar approach their ultimate goal of delivering the gift to Vice President Pence, they are faced with numerous obstacles. Borat is detained by security while attempting to sneak into the Conservative Political Action Conference, where Pence is speaking. Meanwhile, Tutar has a change of heart and decides to follow her own path instead of fulfilling her father's wishes. The film's climax takes place at a debutante ball, where Tutar is presented as a gift to wealthy men bidding on her. Borat intervenes and exposes the men's true intentions, which leads to a chaotic and hilarious finale. The movie ends with Borat and Tutar reconciling, and Tutar pursuing her own ambitions.
