The Great Wall (2016)

"The Great Wall" is a 2016 monster film directed by Zhang Yimou and stars Matt Damon, Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, and Andy Lau. The film follows a European group of mercenaries who search for black powder in China but are attacked by bandits and monsters, and only two mercenaries, William and Tovar, survive. While escaping with the hand of one of the monsters, they stumble upon the Great Wall and are captured by General Shao, Commander Lin Mae, Strategist Wang, and their army. The Great Wall is maintained and defended by a secret army against a horde of monstrous creatures that attack every 60 years.
